For this redesign, Billy’s Downtown Diner asked Peer Pressure Creative to bring a fresh, “not ordinary” feel to their site. This website is definitely “not ordinary.”
Billy's Downtown Diner only had one website since their inception on September 29, 2000... and in Billy's words "it sucked." Billy's Downtown Diner has a tagline of "Not your ordinary diner" and we took that tagline seriously and built him a "Not your ordinary website."
We had some fun with this site... The end user is greeted with a header image showing the exterior of Billy's Downtown Diner with a sprinkling of Parallax goodness for extra measure. The rest of the design is definitely "not ordinary" with its angled lines and bold colors. All the while still making sure that the site is easy to navigate and find all of the important information (like the menu and specials).
Billy now has a site that lets him update his own specials, write blog posts, sell merchandise and more! This site also won numerous awards and mentions including taking Gold in the 2011 Addy Awards.
I have always found my operation at Billy's downtown diner to be unique and cutting edge. We are constantly pushing the envelope for excellence, so it was important for us to be able to work with a company to help design our website that would be as creative as we. Billy's is registered and trademarked as "not your ordinary diner", so we needed a "not your ordinary" type of web design company and we found that in Peer Pressure Creative. This is why when we won multiple awards for best website design, I wasn't that shocked. It was a real pleasure working with such an excellent and creative team that understands customer service.
